Running, culture and the magic of the midnight sun - Midnight Sun Run Oulu 2026

Welcome to experience a new kind of running event!

Imagine running by the sea in the middle of the midnight sun. The sun never sets, the city is alive, and along the route you will encounter culture, art and a truly unique atmosphere. On July 4th 2026, we run under the midnight sun, surrounded by art and culture in Oulu. Midnight Sun Run Oulu is a new running event that combines sports, culture and northern nature in a unique way.

There are three different distances available: 10k (10 km), half marathon (21 km) and marathon (42 km). During the day, there will also be a children's run for under 12 years of age (500 m–1 km), where the youngest members of the family can experience the joy of running in a supportive environment. The routes take runners through Oulu’s seaside views, past city landmarks, art and cultural spots. After the run, the experience continues at the AfterRun event, where participants can relax, enjoy food, experience a traditional Finnish sauna, and cool off with a swim in the sea under the midnight sun.

The heart of the event is Nallikari, a well-known seaside area in Oulu, which serves as the start and finish area as well as the home of the AfterRun event.

Registration for Midnight Sun Run Oulu 2026 is now open. Whether you are a competitor, a goal-oriented runner, a running enthusiast, or a complete beginner. MSRO has something for everyone, regardless of the level.
